TRIBUNALS: HOME  Premiering in 2027

TRIBUNALS: HOME a new contemporary performance work exploring the meaning of home in 21st century Australia. Bringing together First Nations Elders, artists, newly arrived refugees and human rights advocates, this is a sequel work to the acclaimed 2015 production TRIBUNAL (Sydney Opera House, Sydney Festival), and sees a re-imagining of justice as a regenerative performance.

TRIBUNAL: HOME explores the mythology of home - challenging the idea that home is always somewhere we can return to - and instead asks whether home can be found in community, chosen family, cultural memory, ritual, and the experience of being truly seen and understood. The project investigates how systems of power shape who is welcomed,who is excluded and whose humanity is recognised. The artists will explore these structural inequities of belonging, while also searching for moments of joy, connection and collective humanity. This is a re-imagining of justice as a regenerative performance.
